Fond memories of Liz Smith

Liz Smith

Liz Smith, the actor best known for her role as Nana in the television comedy The Royle Family, died on 24 December at the age of 95. At EAC we remember her as the kind and generous Guest Speaker of our first Housing Awards in 2010, a role for which she refused any fee. Liz Smith was the best possible ambassador for retirement housing in which she lived for many years and where the friendships she enjoyed with her co-residents kept loneliness at bay.
