FirstStop Advice receives first acolade

16/03/2010

FirstStop Advice has gained a ringing endorsement from its users.

The innovative advice service for older people and their families provided jointly by Counsel and Care, EAC and NHFA, has gained a ringing endorsement after an independent evaluation by researchers from Cambridge University's Centre for Housing & Planning Research (CCHPR).

"The evaluation showed a positive picture of the service developing over 2009. There has been a continual increase in customer volumes, with a particularly strong rise in the number of people using the service from September to November. Customer volumes will exceed the targets agreed with Communities and Local Government (CLG), who have invested in the initiative."

Researchers from CCHPR will continue to work with FirstStop throughout 2010-11, evaluating all aspects of its operations at both national and local level, and contributing to sharpening its plans for the future.

EAC Quality of Information Mark (QI Mark)

18/12/2009

Peverel Retirement has dominated the QI Mark scene over recent weeks, having made the decision to encourage all its 1,500 House Managers to complete our questionnaire. Around two thirds of its UK-wide portfolio of leasehold retirement developments now carry the Mark. Housing 21 also notched up a further QI Mark during the week for its recently completed Summer Court 'extra care' development in Hythe Kent.

Congratulations to both on helping take the number of schemes awarded the Mark to overy 3,500.

The EAC Quality of Information Mark aims to encourage housing providers to present detailed and accurate information on this website about their specialist housing for older people. Find out more about the QI Mark.
