EAC's annual Over 60s Art Awards competition attracted 1,495 entries by the deadline of 27th May, including for the first time, a number of 3 dimensional works and photographs. The ages of entrants spanned 60 to 100 years, and we were pleased to see all four countries of the UK well represented. A quarter of entries were from artists living in sheltered housing or care home settings.
The first round of judging selected the 123 finalists whose works are now on display in this year's exhibition at the Mall Galleries in London. A second round of judging took place on the opening evening of the exhibition to select this year's prize-winners.
The exhibition runs for five days from Tuesday 27th June to Saturday 1st July. Admission is free, and all are welcome.
