HOOP questionnaires

HOOP is a technique for appraising options, and incorporates 2 main elements:

  • a holistic assessment of current housing
  • identification of any lack of information about possible solutions or alternatives

It takes the form of a questionnaire, asking the user to focus in turn on different aspects of their home situation – size, condition, comfort, location, managing, costs and so on.

HOOP is designed for use by older people themselves, or working with an advisor. Either way, it will flag up the need for information, and quite possibly advice, support and advocacy.
